The e-tron Spyder rides on a 95.7-inch wheelbase, which is 8.7 inches shorter than that of the R8. At 159.8 inches long, 71.3 inches wide, and 43.7 inches tall, it's slightly larger than the hardtop e-tron shown in January at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show but still considerably smaller than an Audi TT.
Design-wise, the e-tron Spyder is similar to the Detroit car, but with a more aggressive look thanks to its crisper lines and new fascias. The front fascia has larger, bolder-looking grille elements, while the rear end is completely different.

2012 Mazda MX-5 Sports Car Preview

A Mazda insider has said that the next MX-5 will use a revised twin-backbone frame, used in the RX-8, and build up on the RX-8’s viewpoint to take on a “super front-midship four-cylinder layout”. What this means is that the MX-5 engine will be placed behind the front axle for best weight distribution, and mounting the fuel tank and main exhaust in front of the rear axle, so all the vital components stay within the wheelbase.

The Dodge Challenger SRT8 CULT Motorsport has built about a year, but given its public debut at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Threatening is the word that best defines him. Aston Martin one 77 Speed Test

Aston Martin are building to be the first of the world at sports cars. The British brand has already announced that it aims to beat the track record over the Nurburgring, and this week the first unit of the limited number stood at the German track to complete its overhaul before the first deliveries to lucky owners, and certainly now with the stopwatch in hand passenger.

The first tests with a prototype have yielded a first-class figures: 3.3 seconds from 0 to 100 and a top speed of 355 kilometers per hour. Its engine has 12 cylinders, six-liter displacement and an output around 700 horsepower.

2011 Nissan GT-R

The GT-R is somewhat of an exception given its legendary status and limited volumes. The U.S. allotment is an average of 1500 GT-Rs a year for five years, but Nissan is skewing production higher in the first year, to 2400 units. Dominique suspects the U.S. may need 2400 in the second year as well. The third model year is when the numbers are expected to drop off and the Spec V will make its timely entrance as a 2011 model.
Nissan wants to strategically introduce the Spec V to keep the GT-R fresh, Dominique says. The automaker also needs time to educate U.S. buyers on the GT-R itself. While this is the seventh generation of the Japanese icon, it is the first to be sold in the U.S.



Volumes for the Spec V will be even smaller than the limited run for the GT-R. And if customers are clamoring for the higher-performance version from day one, Dominique says he is fine with years of anticipation.

Chevrolet has launched an all-New 2011 Chevy Volt Z, a sedan car with five doors and four passenger.all-New 2011 Chevy Volt Z-Spec is an electric vehicle that is designed to provide the unlimited electric vehicle.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt Z-Spec concept introduces unique features including unique lower rocker panels and lower front fascia, grille, taillamps, 19-inch wheels and exterior graphics. Although the Z-Spec parts are only concepts at the moment, they’re being considered for production.

The Volt Z-Spec is driven by the revolutionary Voltec propulsion system, which consists of a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and electric drive unit that provide pure electric range between 25 and 50 miles in moderate conditions, depending on terrain, driving techniques, temperature and battery age.

Once the battery charge drops below a certain level, the Volt’s extended-range 1.4L engine kicks in to provide power to the Volt’s electric motors. With a top speed of 100 mph, the electric drive unit’s excellent low-speed torque of 273 lb.-ft. (368 Nm) takes it from 0 to 60 mph in less than 9.0 seconds and the quarter mile in less than 17.0 seconds.
